Casino Night in Morpeth raises £600

Monte Carlo came to Morpeth again when the Lions Club of Morpeth welcomed over 70 guests to its sixth Charity Casino Night  in Morpeth’s Masonic Hall. The event raised over £600 that will help the Club meet local needs. As well as getting ‘funny money’ to gamble with, the £15 entry charge included a free draw and a pie and pea supper. The evening finished with a Blind Auction.

Morpeth Lion President Margaret Trewick said ‘Following last year’s success the Club is indebted to the Masonic Hall for agreeing to host the event and to Sunderland Lions Club who provided their expertise and equipment. In addition, our thanks go to the many local businesses who provided raffle and blind auction prizes.

Our aim to provide a fun evening must have worked as many of our guests said they looked forward to it happening next year. Very importantly, we raised a wonderful sum to help us in our community service.
