The Morpeth Fashion Show raises £1,750!

To say that the Lions Club of Morpeth’s first Fashion Show was a success would be an understatement. Over 130 guests enjoyed Fashion, Music, cute dogs and light refreshments leading to over £1750 being raised for Cleaswell Hill’s hydrotherapy pool fund.

The evening started with a welcome from Lions President Margaret Trewick once the guests had settled at their tables with a glass of sparkling wine. The show’s cabaret from Jason King got things off to a swinging start followed by the initial show of fashions from Boutique Ravello expertly modelled by local ‘models for the night’. This gave some of the ladies in the audience some ideas for their wardrobes.

At the end of this fashion interlude, some of the models shimmied down the catwalk accompanied by canine friends suitably attired. The dogs and their accoutrements were arranged by Pets HQ and proved to be a hit.

There followed more great singing by Morpeth’s Lou Coel which brought some of the audience onto the floor to strut their stuff. Then there were hair tips from Laura Anderson and a demonstration on how a scarf can be transformed into beach cover. During this time some delicious nibbles were served at the tables.

The evening’s entertainment came to a close with Jason King and more enthusiastic dancing. There had been some very generous raffle prizes donated by local businesses and these were duly drawn to the delight of the winners. And whilst those not so fortunate may have been a little dismayed there would be some satisfaction in knowing that their contributions will benefit a very worthy project.

Closing the evening, Lion President Margaret thanked the guests for their attendance; the
businesses and models who took to the stage or donated prizes and to Riverside Lodge for agreeing to host the evening. She paid particular tribute to Lion Les Sage who worked tirelessly to bring the night to Morpeth and the guests.

Look out for next year??
